Atavus breaks every tackle into four distinct tackle types and situations based on our patented tackle wheel. Each type and situation dictates what the tackler should focus on to be the most effective they can be.

A critcal, yet traditionally overlooked, element of the tackling process. Coaches learn detailed techniques on how tacklers should properly close space, maintain leverage, and have effective footwork and strike timing going into contact.

Atavus teaches a near shoulder technique that removes the head from the tackle. Coaches learn key contact elements that will not only improve player safety, but also allow tacklers to dominate contact.cription

It's critical to understand what types of drills to use and how to implement them when practicing tackling. Atavus has designed a specific approach to tackling drills that teaches coaches what drills to use, how to implement them, and what to look for to progress, challenge, and build athletes' confidence.

Atavus teaches four different levels of contact to use. Coaches will learn these unique approaches and when to use them in practice to get the most development out of their athletes.

A final, multiple choice exam that covers all of the material learned throughout the entire course. Upon completion, coaches will receive certificate of completion.
