The University of Florida Gators football program today announced a strategic multi-year partnership with Atavus Football, the industry leader in shoulder-led tackling technique and technical performance consulting. This collaboration signals a significant investment by the Gators in elite defensive execution and the long-term safety of their student-athletes.
Under the agreement, the Gators will integrate the Atavus Tackle Consulting Service, effectively adding a fractional tackling coach to their defensive staff to transform game film into actionable technical insights. By evaluating every tackle attempt with clinical precision, Atavus provides the Gators' coaching staff with a specialized roadmap for individual player development and collective unit efficiency.
"Tackling is arguably the most fundamental element of defensive football, so finding ways to accurately teach and assess tackling (and corresponding efficiency) is vital to becoming an elite-level defense. We feel that partnering with Atavus provides us an edge in building a technically sound tackling team by providing concrete data points and real-time feedback," said Florida Defensive Coordinator Brad White.
The Atavus platform offers the Gators a specialized "fractional tackling department," allowing Florida's staff to outsource the heavy lifting of technical film review so they can focus on implementation.
